Back in 1994 rumors said Larry Heard was about to retire from house music. Imagine what loss this would have been to the world. I mean, how many other composers do you know that are capable to write tracks like Donnie, Bring down the walls, Distant planet, Can you feel it, I’m strong all in a couple of years! And then, 20 years on, have such a glorious ‚comeback‘ with The sun can´t compare?
I remember wondering how many copies I should order when it was released in 2006, and how it sold out within a day, everyone touched by the beauty of this song. And now it´s 2024 and i still can’t get enough of this. Thank you, Larry!
